New dealers strengthen Valtra´s position in the UK

12.10.1998

Valtra, which is part of Partek Corporation, has made an agreement in the U.K. by which 12 new dealers will start marketing Valtra Valmet tractors. With the new dealers Valtra’s sales network will increase by a total of 35 distribution points.

Some of the new dealers have created a strong position on the agricultural machines market by selling the products of the German company Claas, Europe’s leading manufacturer of combine harvesters. As a result of the agreement, the geographical coverage of Valtra’s sales network in the U.K. will be supplemented considerably. The agreements cover sales, servicing and spare parts.

“The agreement with the new dealers in the U.K. intensifies our marketing cooperation with Claas and creates good preconditions for its development in the future,” states Jouko Tukiainen, Valtra’s President. Valtra and Claas made an agreement last November whereby Valtra will start to sell Claas’s combine harvesters via its sales network in Brazil.

“The agreement strengthens our position on the market in the U.K. and improves the chances of increasing sales, because many of the new dealers operate in areas where we’ve not been represented previously. Valtra’s strength is that we can offer our dealers a top-class, competitive and comprehensive range of models that will supplement the dealers’ other models. Valtra is purely a tractor manufacturer, so we won’t be competing with other brands represented by a dealer,” stresses Mark Broom, the managing director of Valtra Tractors (UK) Ltd.
